How to ruin a family photo session

Wake up at 3:45am.
Miss your appointment to get your hair colored and cut the week before
Dye your own hair at home
Get a scab on your upper lip
Get your son's hair cut the day before the photo shoot
Let husband give instructions on cutting son's hair while you go grocery shopping
Very short hair cut given to son
Baby refuses to smile . . . EVER during the photo shoot
Son slaps you in the face repeatedly while you smile during photo shoot
Unseasonably warm weather means sweaters you bought are no longer an option
Backup t-shirt plan B for son was mysteriously put back in drawer dirty
End up wearing a sweater anyway. In unseasonably hot weather.
Schedule the photo shoot on the day before your baby starts full time day care when you really should be buying a car seat to put in your bosses car so she can give you and the boys a ride home so you don't have to take the bus
Oh wait, you did try and buy a car seat, but in the checkout line you realize you don't have your wallet because you transferred it to the diaper bag
Try not to cry over this as you don't want to ruin your photo shoot
Have your son riccochet off your ass in to the table and give himself a red welt 30 minutes before photo shoot.

We were originally supposed to have the photos on the 7th, but Wyatt got sick with a fever the Friday before and I wasn't sure he would be well enough by Sunday to get pictures taken. So, today was the last day she had that would give us enough time to get holiday cards printed. In retrospect a recovering Wyatt might have been a stiller Wyatt than the well Wyatt of today.
