birthday plans

With the inferior pincer, Wyatt is now at nine month in fine motor skills.

Karle finally did post a picture of Wyatt on her site.

Jane has finally scratched Wyatt. Actually, several times on the arm. Unfortunately, he is still undaunted. She is attempting to stand her ground more and more. We aren't sure what to do except keep the glass doors to the living room closed. Wyatt hasn't discovered he can go around yet.

I placed some rings in a receptacle with a door on his Leapfrog table. Wyatt opened the door and took out the rings. He also put them back and closed the door. That's a big deal! He has done it twice now. Occasionally he misses the recptacle and the rings fall on the floor.

We have been planning for Wyatt's birthday party. We are going down to Long Beach for the weekend and we will have a small party with my family. We decided to have a taco bar. Unfortunately, since we are up here it has proven difficult to plan much of anything. I haven't even managed to get a cake, but I have some ideas (Costco or Honey Bakery). My mom is actually going to Costco tomorrow to do most of the shopping. She's had to do most of the work! Well, once Rus and I get down there we should be able to take care of the rest of it.

We have some ideas for making things, like pirate hats, and decorating cakes in pirate themes. We need balloons. We were honestly not sure what to do for Wyatt's first birthday. He obviously won't remember his first birthday. I just didn't want to have to tell him we did nothing when he asks me some day. Plus, it was a really hard year for our little family. Turning one is a big deal. It's time for a little celebrating!
