Seadog

My friend Maria came by last Friday for a visit. She hasn't seen Wyatt since he was really small. When she came by the last time she had some strands of yarn she was going to use to knit something for Wyatt. The theme was "Seadog" as that was one of Wyatt's early nicknames. Seadog, in addition to meaning experienced sailor, can also mean seal or other sea mammal or fogbow. A fogbow is like a rainbow on the fog, but is white or yellow.

This time she brought by the finished product, a blanket. It's beautiful and soft. As soon as we handed it to Wyatt he took a big sniff and a nibble. Maria said it was the nicest reaction she has ever gotten to her knitting.
Maria also brought us a picture of two seadogs (a seal and a fogbow) in the same picture. She just happened upon them both at the same time.

Maria is my friend from doing the SF AIDS Marathon in 2001. She also got me in to camping and snow camping. She is the chief arborist for San Mateo County, a job she got a few months back. She still lives in San Francisco, I guess the neighborhood is North Beach.
