Jane is very sick

We had noticed the Jane was losing weight and that she was vomiting more than usual. Not associated with eating plastic, often clear and foamy. Rus wanted to take her in last week, but Wyatt got sick. He finally took her in yesterday. The vet said she was dehydrated and gave her IV fluids. They also ran a panel of tests on her. Rus found out today Jane has severe chronic kidney failure. He took her back for a two day overnight where they are going to continue hydrating her and try and get her electrolytes balanced. Rus dropped her off earlier today with her favorite blanket (which happens to be the blanket Kami made me that we had on our bed.) We stopped by after work with Wyatt to speak to the doctor. Rus went back and visited with Jane. He says she seemed relaxed. The vet reported that Jane was eating well. She might be able to come home tomorrow.

We will have to give her liquid meds and a pill. The most troubling part is she also needs a sub-q infusion of fluids daily. That means we have to insert a needle and administer approx. five minutes worth of something like Ringers lactate. We thought initially it was an injection, but it isn't. A bag has to be hooked up. Jane has to allow us to not only inject a needle but has to stay still for the infusion. It's not going to easy. This also means we won't be going anywhere overnight anytime soon. Not that we were going to. Well, the birth obviously, but Rus just won't stay with me this time.

But we are committed to doing whatever it takes for our girl. I hope we get her back tomorrow. But maybe a break from Wyatt is what she needed.
