Early intervention check in

We had a visit from Brook from the Regional Center on Friday. Rus was not there as he is not really on board with continuing these check-ins. Wyatt did well. He still shows some gross and fine motor delays, but he has made significant progress. Some of the things he didn't do that put him behind were stand on his toes and the way he walks up and down stairs. The stairs are coming, as for standing on tippy toes . . . that's a hard one to get a kid to do. He also doesn't undress himself, but we don't encourage that! Brook was impressed with his knowledge of colors as he immediately identified her clip board as orange.

One of the questions was - does Wyatt understand the concept of three. I told her what had happened earlier in the day. We were standing in front of some elevator doors to get to the parking lot. The doors were mirrored. Wyatt pointed to his reflection and said, "One Wyatt." Then he caught his reflection on the side and said, "Two Wyatts." He finally pointed to himself and said "Three Wyatts." I guess he understands the concept of three.

We will probably see Brook one more time in April and then have a transition plan to the Oakland Unified School District. While they don't have any services for gross and fine motor, they would provide speech. Brook is a little concerned about articulation.

Honestly, I am not worried about anything regarding Wyatt right now. I think he is doing fantastic.
