Follow-up with Kaiser PT

We took Wyatt to see Sharon White, his old PT from Kaiser today. This was a follow-up to the High Risk Infant Health Clinic back when he was 6 months adjusted. They saw some concerns with his gross motor skills and wanted us to check-in three months later.

Sharon thinks Wyatt is doing great. She checked out both of his legs, really thoroughly, after I expressed concern about his left leg. She said he seems to favor sitting to his right side so maybe he tucks that leg more. She noticed that he seems to prefer his right side a bit, which isn't really typical in infants his age, but she isn't seeing anything she would be too worried about. In fact, she said if this the first time she had seen him she wouldn't even recommend PT.

The OT, Stacey Roura, came by to see him, as well, to check on his feeding. She checked his mouth, tongue movement, groove and gag reflex (wish I had known she was gonna do that!) and said he seems great. She had some tips for helping him with textured foods, but honestly I was too distracted by what Sharon was doing with him on the mat to have paid that much attention.

All in all, they were surprised and pleased with Wyatt. Sharon thinks that Wyatt will crawl in a month or even less. She says he is really close. And that we really need to baby proof our house!

Wyatt was, of course, incredibly charming as usual.
