Still intubated this morning

When I called at around 7:30am, Pat told me Wyatt was still intubated. They had tried to feed him, but he didn't tolerate it well. So he is NPO (no food by stomach) for now. Pat said she was disappointed to see him still on the ventilator, but if he was in pain that is the best way to manage him if he is being given morphine (it can lower your respiration rate).

Rus called a bit later while I was taking a nap (How I sleep in these situations, I just don't know.) and things were unchanged. Pat said she would call us after rounds.

And so we wait . . .
